Empowering Voices: From Gender Mainstreaming to Youth Inclusion in Parliaments

This open workshop will focus on gender-sensitive parliaments, youth participation, and practical approaches to fostering diversity and inclusion in parliamentary work. The session will include the launch of the new INTER PARES Handbook: Beyond Numbers – Stories of Gender Equality in and through Parliaments.

Panels will focus on:

Putting gender on the agenda – explore the importance of critical actors to drive change, making space for gender issues in political debate, representing women’s interests, and public engagement.

Revealing invisible gender inequalities – dig into how inequalities can be highlighted via gender sensitive scrutiny and rules can better advance gender equality, using negotiation or data.

Diversity and Inclusion: Towards Impactful Youth Participation in Parliaments –  examine how parliaments can create pathways for impactful participation of young people in their work and consider how parliaments can (better) invite and incorporate the views and ideas of young people.

A complete agenda will be available soon. Kindly complete the registration form here.
